Ithaca is situated on the southern tip of Cayuga Lake in New York State's Finger Lakes region. Home to Cornell University of the Ivy League, Ithaca offers a college town atmosphere with plenty to see and do. Located on the campus is the Herbert F. Johnson Museum, designed by I. M. Pei, who also designed the Louvre Museum in Paris. In the summer, walking along the pedestrian-friendly streets and visiting the cafes, bookstores and farmers market is a favorite pastime for both locals and visitors. A host of recreational activities are offered at nearby Cayuga Lake, as well as Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Falls State Parks. The Cayuga Wine Trail can be easily accessed from Ithaca, as several paths of the trail intersect here.
